The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is well known for starring in the 1970 film ‘The Railway Children’. 2020 marks the film’s 50th Anniversary, and you can visit the railway between 29-31 August to join in the celebrations. The newly restored ‘957’ Green Dragon and carriages that appeared in the film will be in service and a special Pullman dining service will be available for advance bookings. Sit back at Keighley station and enjoy an outdoor cinema show of the original film. Visit the beautifully preserved Oakworth station and walk in the footsteps of Roberta, Phyllis and Peter on the self-guided Railway Children walk. There’ll be re-enactments of scenes as well as interactive items and film displays. You can dress up as your favourite character and meet some of the original cast from the film too.
